Emma's 1st Birthday!!!!!

It is hard to believe but Emma has turned ONE! The old saying about time flying is certainly true in this case. It seems just like a day ago that she entered our lives. She was a quiet sleepy baby and now she is a very active loud excited girl! We can not express how much God has blessed us with this kid and how much joy she brings into our lives. There is something to laugh about every day with her!
Here are some cute pictures of our little girlie on her big day!

With little friends

Emma's friends David and Elliott came just for the ocassion. Elliott is 2 weeks younger then Emma (he is the one of the left) and David is five weeks younger. They all had fun chewing on the celery sticks and trying to feed each other. If only i knew I would skip all the grilling and the cake!

Birthday Cake

For Emma's first b-day i wanted to make a special cake for her. I was trying hard to think was would be a perfect yet easy cake since it was my first attempt at decorating. With little help from a friend from work i came up with a flower cake. It was a team work as Chris helped use the food coloring for icing and i baked and decorated. I was happy with the end result. I also made a mini version of it for Emma. I figured she would want to get her hands and face in it but she was not very interested. She liked the candle and wanted to touch it (which resulted in her touching the still hot tip of the candle and little crying) but the cake was not too exciting. As most people noticed the veggie trey with some celery and carrots was much more attractive to Emma (i guess i should count my blessings-haha). It was still fun and Emma enjoyed everyone sing Happy B-day to her. Here are a few pics to describe the moment.

Opening Gifts

Emma was more interested in the bows that were on the gifts then in the actual gifts. She played with the bows the whole rest of the day and Sunday. She did start looking at the books though. Some gifts we are putting away and will give them to her later on. As you can see on the last picture, opening of the gifts was such a crazy chaotic activity. Kids loved it!!!!!

Idemo Hrvatska - Croatia 2 Germany 1

Today in Euro 2008 Croatia beat Germany for the first time since the 1998 World Cup. Croatia is guaranteed first place in Group B and a place in the quarterfinals. We put on our Croatian gear and were ready to cheer them on to victory!!!

Here we are going nuts after the first goal. Emma can't take her eyes of the game.

Two Croatian fans. Emma loves her Croatian hat, even though it's a little big.
Don't they look alike?!

Intently watching the game from her highchair, strategically located in the middle of the living room for a good view of the game. After all this excitement she'd love a cold Ozujsko.
